The class would have to be defined within the twig for it to work
and it will only work when a forum function is on the page
the value also needs to be wrapped in {{...}}

.ford {background-image : url( {{ profile.avatars[16] }} ); background-repeat : no-repeat; background-position : right bottom; }

Then just add the class to the element
