Graham A simple trick for if you wish to use a particular image as the thumbnail for a post but you do not want that image to appear in the actual post put the image inside a
<span style="display:none">...</span>
the image will still be used as the thumbnail but it will not be visible in the post this is particularly handy for embedded video posts
